02 May Joshua Rodriguez – My Intern Experiance at Embark Marketing
Greetings, everyone! I’m Joshua Rodriguez, a senior at UTSA on track to graduate in May 2024. As I reflect on my time at Embark, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for the journey ahead.
Embark Marketing marked the initiation of my internship voyage, and each day within their office has been an enriching experience. Stepping into their space for the first time, I immediately sensed a supportive atmosphere. Kim, Amy, Daniella, Corey, and Kamryn welcomed me warmly, fostering a sense of belonging and comfort. Their unwavering support during moments of uncertainty has been invaluable.
What Was Your Most Valuable Takeaway From Your Time At Embark Marketing?
This internship has been a revelation, kindling a newfound passion for social media marketing and content creation. While my initial focus was on Public Relations, Embark Marketing has broadened my horizons, inspiring a deep interest in photography.
Among the clients I found most rewarding to collaborate with were Creme, Los Barrios Family, Aldacos, Smashin Crab, Clutch City Cluckers, and numerous others. Witnessing the content I crafted for these brands showcased on their social media platforms fueled my enthusiasm and motivation to generate more. Observing my creations come to life in the public sphere provided me with invaluable insights and a profound sense of fulfillment.
What’s Your Advice to Future Interns?
For future interns, my advice is simple: fully commit yourself. Approach each day with a thirst for knowledge and growth. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, no matter how seemingly trivial—they’re vital to our learning process as beginners in the field. Moreover, maintaining an open mind and nurturing curiosity are paramount. Embrace opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge within the realms of marketing and PR. During my time as an intern, I observed colleagues undertaking tasks that intrigued me. By proactively seeking opportunities to learn, I was able to broaden my skill set. I encourage future interns to do the same, as it fosters personal and professional development.
